The Cats Collection

The Cats Collection by Sheena Norquay is a charming return from one of Aurifil’s most beloved designers— her first new collection since 2024, and a celebration of the endlessly captivating creatures who have inspired textile artists for centuries. Ten small spools of Aurifil’s 100% Cotton 28wt thread, each shade drawn from the subtle, real-life variations found in feline coats— soft, muted tones alongside richer, deeper hues— come together in a palette as nuanced and individual as the cats themselves.

Inspired by the many cats Sheena has known— her own, her sister’s, and a few friendly visitors along the way— the collection reflects her signature approach to textile illustration: careful observation translated into color, and color translated into craft. Aurifil’s 28wt is perfectly suited to the detailed work this collection invites, from machine embroidery and hand embellishment to appliqué and beyond.
